Ron Bergez comes to Carrollton Classical Academy in his thirty-first year as an educator. He has worked in charter schools for twenty years, both at Tempe Preparatory Academy in Arizona, where he wore the hats of teacher, department chair, Dean of Students, and Headmaster; and most recently as a teacher of English, history, government, and economics at Great Hearts Irving. Ron holds a B.A. in history from Pomona College in California, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University, and a Certificate in Classical Learning from the University of Dallas. Ron is grateful for the opportunity to lead Carrollton Classical Academy where, calling upon the wonder inherent in each student, Plutarch’s observation can come every more fully to life: “The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be lit.”
Ron and his wife Pam live in Irving, and they share Texas with their four children and – so far - five grandchildren.
